EDF Poland – the plant in Rybnik has been present on the outskirts of Rybnik, Silesia; since 1972. ERSA is one of the leading energy companies in Poland. The plant’s core business is electricity generation for the purposes of the National Power System. At present, the power plant in Rybnik has generation capacity of 1,775 MW and is the largest power plant in the Upper Silesia, in addition to being one of the largest power plants in the national power system in Poland. With the annual generation of over 9,000 GWh of electricity, the plant can meet approximately 8% of the demand of the National Power System (KSE). The power plant is a facility maintaining high uptime for generation and through high regulation abilities, achieving great efficiency in the reduction of emitted pollution.
